Although most political analysts say that the poll and survey results are of little significance this early in the race, it is encouraging to see Mitt Romney’s gains-sometimes wins- against frontrunners Rudy Giuliani and John McCain.

There has been a continued attack by the press. They have put out nonstop reports knocking Romney, casting doubts. Meanwhile, they promote people like Fred Thompson, Ron Paul, and Newt Gingrich as the “true conservative” alternatives. They are causing divisions and chaos the Republican party and the Republicans are too ignorant to realize it.

However, back to the topic…The first strong showing was in the Zogby Poll which was released soon after Governor Romney announced that he had raised $23 million and won the “money primary”.

Latest New Hampshire telephone poll shows Romney’s support nearly doubles to 25 percent to tie McCain; Giuliani trails at 19 percent.

In the latest Gallup Poll released April 2-5, 2007, Mitt Romney gains three points from the March 23-25, 2007 poll to move to 6%.

A recent Fox News Poll conducted April 1-3, 2007 shows Romney polling at 14 points, up from 8 in the previous poll. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,264823,00.html

Romney wins the Beaufort County South Carolina straw poll.

The Beaufort County Republican Party held their convention this Saturday and conducted a Presidential preference straw poll. Here are the results: Romney: 36 Giuliani: 24 Gingrich: 18 F. Thompson: 14 McCain: 5 Huckabee: 2 Tancredo: 2 Hunter: 1 T. Thompson: 1. Governor Romney gets the “Best Week Ever” award and appears to have some MO coming off the fundraising news cycle. Conversely, Senator McCain must be smarting a little from these results since he just visited Sun City in Beaufort which has a number of active GOPer’s.
