Mitt Romney Wins First Quarter Fundraising Battle
April 4th, 2007 by eric
Although I grossly overestimated the totals, I successfully predicted a fundraising victory for Mitt Romney including the placement of Rudy Giuliani, second, and Senator John McCain, third. March 28 post Mitt Romney Fundraising Update.
Hillary Clinton out paced all 2008 presidential candidates with a reported $26 million. It is important to note that in this figure there are monies for both the primary and general election. When this total is broken down to show the two totals, and her primary funds are compared to Romney’s primary funds, I predict that the liberal media is going to be shocked at how close Mitt Romney came to topping all 2008 hopefuls including Hillary Clinton. It’s not Romney that she fears though. It’s Obama and his total.
While every other candidate has reported his or her totals, Barack Hussein Obama says he still doesn’t know how much money came in. But we’re not surprised. It’s typical of a liberal Democrat to not have proper accounting of those funds that America’s hard working men and women have entrusted to him. So long as he can spend, spend, spend he will be content. Perhaps the reason that he has not released his numbers is to achieve maximum media exposure. He waits until after every other candidate has released totals and the media analysis has died down, then he comes out with a number. Is it possible that Obama’s camp knows the exact number of donors at 83,531 but doesn’t know the amount of money donated? It doesn’t seem logical. By comparison, Hillary’s camp reported approximately 50,000 donors.
