UnionLeader.com has exclusive polling results from the American Research Group showing significant point gains for Governor Romney in New Hampshire presidential primaries.

The poll is from a survey of 600 likely voters in each party primary. The margin of error is 4%. The poll was taken between January 31st, and February 1st, 2007. The GOP results are…

Arizona Sen. McCain receiving support from 27 percent of likely GOP primary voters, followed by former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani at 20 percent each and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich at 11 percent. No other candidates drew more than 1 percent, while 21 percent of likely Republican primary voters were undecided. –UnionLeader.com, February 2, 2007

This is a gain of 11 percentage points for Mitt Romney who drew 9% in in the same poll in late December.

The gains for Romney look to have come at the expense of Rudy Guiliani who in the late December polling drew 25% and possibly at the expense of Newt Gingrich (late December figures not shown) who is not running. Click here to view the article.
